Don't think the NCAA doesn't read the papers. In
this press release, the NCAA responds to
some of the criticism it has received over its decision to deny the waiver that would allow Jeremiah Masoli to play for Ole Miss this year. Predictably, it falls back on "the spirit" of the rule when it was modified in 2007. It offers no defense to its failure to hold all formerly dismissed transferring players to the same standard,
as was so aptly written by SI.com's Andy Staples.
